I have worked at Berenberg for over 12 years (I was the tenth member of Berenberg London!). I feel very fortunate to have been part of the firm from its early life in London, and to have been able to grow with the Bank to where we both are today.
I head up the events team to organise a comprehensive calendar of events across the UK, Europe and the USA. These can include anything from large four-day conferences to annual football tournaments and various wine tastings, just to name a few.
I have also been able to take on some exciting events which have been fairly unique: a personal highlight was taking 75 clients to the top of the One World Trade Center two weeks before it was open to the public (or even the press); another was arranging for 51 people to cycle across the narrowest part of the UK in just over two days to raise money for our charity partner – no two days are ever the same!
I was part of the original committee to set up our community involvement programme, “BerenbergKids”, which supports underprivileged children and we encourage as many people as possible to get involved in either volunteer days or our annual sporting challenge. It is a rewarding programme and adds another dynamic to life at Berenberg.
Why do I like working in London?
“I love working in a city steeped in history yet one that is full of diversity; our offices in London are right next to the old Bank of England which is such an iconic building yet it is juxtaposed to the new modern London skyline of the Shard and the Gherkin. I enjoy the buzz I get out of working in a fast-paced industry in the bustling metropolis that is London.”
